We did a little relaxing:
We did a little "work":
The mixer was a gift from Poppie (Dad's dad) to Gjo (Dad's mom)
for Christmas 1947. When Gjo came home from the hospital
after giving birth to my dad it was waiting on the counter for her.
The bowls are collected.
The washboards closest and farthest away were ones that Gjo's
mother used to make money to raise her 5 children
after Gjo's father left them.
A shelf that Jene brought home for me from Goodwill fit
perfectly in this little nook above the slop sink.
Just have to find a few more old laundry themed items to
fill the gaps :)
I also got J's room painted while we were there. I will show you pix
when the floor and everything are done-hopefully in a few weeks.
We updated the door boxes for the season too!
Then it was back to reality...
Vet appt. at 10am, a couple of properties needed to be mowed,
1:30pm appt. with attorney, 2:45 pick up kids. How do you get the mowing done on one end of town, get to the atty. in the middle of town, and then mow on the other end of town all before picking kids up from school? Well, you might be a redneck if...
you have ever driven a tractor to an appointment with your attorney.
Here's how small of a town I live in. When I walked in and told our atty. that I had driven the tractor there he asked "Really?! What kind of tractor do you have?!" LOL! Gotta' love small town living :)
Hope you all have a wonderful evening.
