A Big Thank You to Ellie!

After our week up at The Stone House I came home to a pile of mail at the PO and there was my swap envelope from my partner Ellie for Tammy's envelope swap.  Love what she sent!

I love the candle mats that Ellie makes and she sent me some with such lovely summer blooms on them and then mug rugs to match.  The vintage kitchen towel is from one of her fave. antique stores.  Love the crow pillow and Miss Mouse.  Thank you Ellie!  To see what I sent Ellie click HERE.

Things are progressing quickly with the house, they already did the inspection this past Friday.

The boys and I came back up the The Stone House on Thursday afternoon (that is where I am writing this post from) to try and get a boardwalk built before Jene came up on Friday night.  We succeeded but I do not have pics yet, sorry, I will take one after I get the plants in next to it.  On the way up we stopped at Walmart and picked up a few things including some fried chicken for dinner, well any of you that have sons know that if there is food around it doesn't stand a chance so not being sure that the boys would survive another 20 minutes 'til we got to the house we sat on the tailgate of the truck and ate fried chicken...can you say hillbilly?

Jene's oldest brother came up this weekend, he is going through some hard times right now so it was good for him to get away..."it is by the water that hearts heal" and this truly is a healing place, I have reason to believe that with all my heart.

Saturday I became the mother of a 14 years old.  We went to eat at one of J's fave. places in town here and the owner spoiled J, not that that is uncommon, she came over and whispered to me "what kind of cake would he like best?" and then rattled off some options.  Then she brought him the biggest piece of cake I have ever seen and sang to him, thank goodness he shared some of the cake, YUMMY!  The day wrapped up with a movie at our little theater in town here.  He also got to do some fishing (I was able to sneak up behind the shed and snapped this shot, love it).

This weekend after I got the boardwalk built and stained I stained every other piece of non-living wood on the property as well, the pier bench, the fence, the shutters, the pump house, the picnic table, my in-laws old pier, the deck...anyway if it was wood and sat still long enough it got stained!

The boys and I will head back tomorrow at 3- to make it back for wrestling practice at 6-...then we'll be up again next weekend to get the trim around the windows done and maybe start on the siding of The Little House.

One last pic. of CJ drinking his "sweet milk" (left over milk from cereal) on Friday morning.  What a baby!

Hiney put the spoon down there, goof ball.

Hope you all have wonderful and blessed week.

Love,
Kendra
