I stopped into GW yesterday after I donated some of the leftovers from my garage sale and I found a sheet that I loved the material of and I found this pottery piece and lantern (that doesn't open?!).
I also found 2 old books! One of them is a geography of Illinois published in 1921 with all sorts of info on vegetation, populations, agriculture, and so on of Illinois from 1910-1920. The other is a book on the Lives of Benefactors with information about the lives of George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and others published in 1849. After I got that book home I found a relative of mine in there, the boys didn't believe me so I went and got the family tree book and showed them.
See how many people we had in our little town of Genoa in 1920? The second number is 1910's population...we lost about 30 people. Now there are about 5000.
Well, I best go and get some thing done before I have to sit in the rain at a track meet this evening. Hope you all have a wonder filled day.
PLEASE READ MY LAST POST IF YOU DID NOT SEE IT YESTERDAY!
Love to all,
Kendra

How cool to find a relative of yours in another book. Growing up on farms I learned not to be afraid of anything...but still don't like spiders...Take care, Janice
ReplyDeletehaha I am afraid of frogs and toads..but not snakes go figure LOL.
ReplyDeleteLOL... toads? Way to hang tuff mom. We've gained a toad the past couple of days on our front porch where there's a smorgasbord of bugs for it. That was a nice deed you did for that lady.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool finding your family member in that old book.

Love the frog/toad story! I am a real frog fan. When I was little, a friend and I collected all the toads we could find in the yard and made a toad farm. Poor things!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds...especially the pottery bowl.
Hugs,
Courtney
